Your students. Your book.

Your school's book can be whatever you want - a collection of pupil's work, a history of the school, a year book, local interest, a souvenir for leavers or anything else you can think of. It can be a simple collection of work, or the result of a term-long or year-long project; it can span different years, involve the whole school or be a project for a particular group. It can be a hardback, paperback, large format, pocket-size...

What does it cost?

There are different models, but it need not cost your school anything other than the time and creativity it takes to produce your book. The production of the book can be funded either by orders (from parents and other customers) or by an initial order from the school - but this is optional.

Why do it?

Like a school photo, a book featuring work by pupils will be a desirable souvenir - appealing to parents and other supporters of the school, as well as the students themselves. You can sell it from the school, from your website, at open evenings and other events, as well as direct to parents and through any other means you can think of.

How do we support you?

We will work with you in the same way that we work with our authors, to create a  high-quality book, which will be "properly published". Specifically, we'll do the following:

Provide project and lesson plans for teachers if required.

Provide designing and editing services if required.

Carry out all administration with regard to publishing your book.

Obtain an ISBN and ensure that a copy of your book is deposited with the British Library, where it will stay 'for ever' - the work of you and your students, will be preserved in history.

Market the book to appropriate retail outlets, thereby increasing your income, as well as making it available to all booksellers and listing it on Amazon.

Help to generate local publicity and support for the project.

Provide sales and fulfillment through this website.

And anything else required to make your book a success.

How do students benefit?

Students can be involved on whatever level you consider appropriate and feasible. As well as contributing to the book, they can also get involved in everything from the design of the cover to the financial side or the marketing.

Creating a book for your school could tick several National Curriculum boxes, or could be part of 'enterprise' sessions, allowing students to learn about business and commerce with a live project and a tangible finished product, which could be treasured for a lifetime, and couild become an annual tradition.
A brand new fundraising initiative for schools - publish your own book, with NO investment!
How would the book make money for the school?

Put simply, we'll split the profits equally with you. The potential income depends on the type of book, and we would be happy to talk to you about this in more detail.
